Research and Development Center of Biomedical Photonics is a structural subdivision of the State Federal-Funded Educational Institution of Higher Education "Orel State University named after I.S. Turgenev" founded within the framework of the strategic project of the flagship university on September 29, 2017. R&D Center of Biomedical Photonics was formed on the basis of the Scientific-educational center "Biomedical Engineering" which was founded on January 28, 2010.

Successful performance of students of OSU at the conference "Biology - Science of the 21st Century"

On April 18-22, 2022 a school-conference for young scientists “Biology is a science of the 21st century” was held at the Pushchino Scientific Center for Biological Research of the Russian Academy of Sciences. An interdisciplinary team of students from Orel State University named after I.S. Turgenev tooks part in it and demonstrated works performed at the Research and Development Center of Biomedical Photonics and the Cell Physiology and Pathology Laboratory.

Successful performance of students from OGU at the XI Congress of Young Scientists

 An interdisciplinary team of students from Orel State University named after I.S. Turgenev, that performs its scientific work in the Research and Development Center of Biomedical Photonics and the Cell Physiology and Pathology Laboratory, took part in the XI All-Russian Congress of Young Scientists. There they successfully presented the results of their research work. The congress was held in a mixed format on April 4-8, 2022 in St. Petersburg National Research University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics (ITMO University).

Special Issue of the «Diagnostics» journal

The Special Issue “Optical Diagnostics in Human Diseases” of Diagnostics (Q1, IF 3.11) was published. The guest editor of this issue was Dr Andrey Dunaev, a leading researcher at the Research and Development Center of Biomedical Photonics and the Сell Physiology and Pathology Laboratory.

Round-table meeting with participants of the megagrant program at the forum “Science of the Future – Science of the Youth”

December 2, 2020, a round table meeting was held in Moscow with participants of the megagrants program of the Government of the Russian Federation for governmental support for scientific research, conducted under the supervision of leading scientists of Russian Educational Institutions of Higher Education, Scientific Institutions of Russian Academy of Sciences and State Scientific Centers of the Russian Federation.

The special issue of "Diagnostics" journal is now open for submission

Journal "Diagnostics" (ISSN 2075-4418, IF 3.110) is currently running a Special Issue (SI) entitled “Multimodal Optical Diagnostics of Glycated Biological Tissues”. New megagrant publication

The team of employees and the laboratory of cellular physiology and pathology of OSU named after I.S. Turgenev and University College London, UCL (UK), published an article in the Journal of Neurochemistry (Q1, IF = 4.830, Wiley-Blackwell Publishing Ltd).

Participation in the XVIII All-Russian Youth Competition-Conference of Scientific Works on Optics and Laser Physics

November 10-14 2020, the XVII All-Russian Youth Competition-Conference of Scientific Works on Optics and Laser Physics was held in Samara. The competition was attended by PhD student, researcher assistant of Research and Development Center of Biomedical Photonics Ksenia Kandurova and master’s student in Biotechnical systems and technologies (direction “Photonics and electronics in medical and biological practice”) Nadezhda Golubova.

Participation in the 19th International Conference "Laser Optics" (ICLO 2020)

New publication in Diagnostics journal

Researchers of Research and Development Center of Biomedical Photonics, Orel Regional Clinical Hospital, University of Oulu (Finland) and Aston University (UK) published an article in Diagnsotics journal (ISSN 2075-4418, IF 3.110, Q2 the Special Issue “Optical Diagnostics in Human Diseases”.
