Dr Andrey Dunaev

Dr Andrey Dunaev received his diploma in Instrumental Engineering (MSc) and diploma in Management (MSc) at Orel State Technical University (since 01.04.2016 - Orel State University named after I.S. Turgenev), Orel, Russia, in 1999. In December 2002 he was awarded a PhD degree for his work on biomedical equipment “Method of control of the absorbed radiation power in epidermis during low-level laser therapy” (in Russian). Please see here about PhD thesis (in English).

Now his research interests include the development of biomedical non-invasive optical diagnostics methods and devices – such as laser Doppler flowmetry, tissue reflectance oximetry, fluorescence spectroscopy and diffuse reflectance spectroscopy.

Since 2005 he was associate professor (docent), part time - 25%, of Department "Instrumentation, metrology and certification" at State University - Education-Science-Production Complex (since 01.04.2016 - Orel State University named after I.S. Turgenev). He was teaching lectures on "Laser and light apparatus in physiotherapy and surgery", "Optoelectronic Devices in Diagnostics, Therapy and Surgery", "Basis of Biospectrophotometry", "Modeling Biological Processes and Systems", "Physical and technical bases of tomography" etc.

Since 2010 is a chief executive of Scientific-Educational Center (SEC) “Biomedical Engineering” at State University ESPC (since 01.04.2016 - Orel State University named after I.S. Turgenev). At 2011-2013 years worked as Postdoctoral Researcher (Marie Currie Research Fellow) at the University of Dundee (Dundee, Scotland, UK) on the the European Community’s Seventh Framework Program (FP7-People-2011-IAPP) under Grant Agreement no. 251531 “MEDILASE” (Multifunctional MEdical DIagnostic LASEr System).

Since February 2014 is a Leading Research Fellow at Scientific-Educational Center "Biomedical Engineering" of State University ESPC (since 01.04.2016 - Orel State University named after I.S. Turgenev), since December 2016 is a head of the Laboratory of Biomedical Photonics of University Hospital,  since November 2017 - Director of Research & Development Center of Biomedical Photonics.
